Nonprofits

Like any business, nonprofits need to regularly and effectively communicate to their donors and constituents in order to succeed. There are countless nonprofits vying for the attention of the general public. We help you identify your most influential and passionate audience members, streamline your important messaging, and tailor your outreach. We believe that targeted, timely, and contextual communication is paramount to moving the needle in your organization. 

Our mission is to provide the best possible services to nonprofits while remaining cognizant of the bottom line and the need to stretch limited resources without compromising on results.

Responsible For-Profits

Because we believe it's imperative to serve others while supporting yourself, our for-profit services are reserved exclusively for organizations that have an active corporate social responsibility program. Corporate social responsibility (corporate citizenship) can take many forms, including serving others in your community through volunteerism and philanthropy. Our communications services translate across a variety of industries. While we don't "specialize" in any particular for-profit industry, we reserve the right not to represent organizations in competing marketplaces.

BriannaMcKinneyHeadshot

A thought leader and innovator in marketing, public relations, sales, and brand management, Brianna McKinney founded Bloom Communications to bridge the gap between marketing and public relations disciplines and serve the global community. Her mission is to combine her over ten-year communications background with her 20 years of nonprofit volunteer experience, igniting passion with purpose. 

Prior to founding Bloom Communications, Brianna was Venture Partner at Penman PR where she was responsible for building new business, managing product development and marketing, conducting trainings through Penman PR Training Institute, and working on major account strategy and tactics. Earlier in her career, she served as strategic marketing advisor to industry leaders such as Hewlett Packard, Microsoft, AOL, Atkins, iVillage.com, BusinessWeek and Amerisave, helping them to execute highly successful, multi-million dollar marketing programs.

Brianna brings a background of diverse industry knowledge, having worked in industries including nonprofit, entertainment, consumer and commercial computer hardware & software, consumer electronics, finance, health care, and hospitality. Having worked on both agency and client side, she maintains that a successful outsourced campaign is the result of a true partnership between agency and client.

She has served on the boards of several nonprofit organizations and currently holds the positions of Marketing Committee Chair for GENaustin and Communications Representative for Ballet Austin Guild. In addition to serving in these capacities, she as a member of the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network and a proud supporter of the Capital Area Food Bank. Brianna went to school to learn how to change the world. She received a BA in Sociology from the University of Texas at Austin with recognition on the Dean's Honor List, magna cum laude.
